Yes. Any kind of whey protein will contain trace amounts of lactose. In our experience, some people having minor lactose sensitivities do not have the same sensitivities to our products.
Happy cows that are pasture raised and naturally feed on
grass are healthier and produce premium quality milk. Studies have shown that
grass-fed milk yields more nutrition such as higher levels of immunoglobulins,
lactoferrin, vitamins and other bioactive compounds found in the fat. It’s also
better for the environment, for the cows, and most importantly for you.
Our whey protein contains 80% protein by weight referred to as WPC80 (Whey Protein Concentrate 80). This means that if you were to scoop 100 grams of pure WPC80, you would get 80 grams of protein.
Whey concentrates preserve more of the nutrients and valuable immune boosting lactoglobulins and lactoferrins than whey isolates. Most isolates on the market contain 90% protein by weight
referred to as WPI90 (Whey Protein Isolate 90). This is due to increased
processing which leaves you with an almost pure protein product with virtually
no fat, carbs, and lactose. Isolates are most beneficial for those who are
severely lactose intolerant. However, due to the removal of fat and carbs from
the isolate process, you also end up removing quality nutrients. We carefully
chose to use whey concentrate over isolate because we believe the higher levels
of beneficial nutrients found in grass fed milk should be retained in your
whey.
The decision to use a concentrate was a whole food approach. Think of it like this... why would we pay more for high quality eggs
for it’s extra nutritional value only to remove the egg yolk and keep the egg
whites? The nutrition is in the egg yolk!
Yes, our protein is made in a facility that follows strict guidelines from the FDA as well as NSF, an independent organization. What this means is the facility maintains high standards and can withstand audits from the government and other independent organizations to ensure current Good Manufacturing Practice.
